A Lonely Wonderful Walk:
A Journey of Survival and Rebirth Through Cancer

In the same vein as Tuesdays with Morrie (Mitch Albom, 1997) and My Sister’s Keeper (Jodi Picoult, 2004), this inspiring true story is written from the first person and is both raw and sensitive. It explores an understanding of the true ramifications of cancer on adolescence, and gives patients a positive rendering of the experience to counter-balance the barrage of negative statistics surrounding the disease. While the book isn’t a guide to battling cancer, it has been used successfully to help people understand that they are not alone. It can help them share their frustrations and feelings with their own loved ones and to understand that there CAN be a happy ending.

“This book is amazing. The written words are so beautifully authentic. This book is about life, survival, healthcare, patient advocacy and a story of a young man in his prime facing a life or death battle with his own body.”
